Roots Union |
Every once in a while a band come along who don’t need to rely on a barrage of hyperbole to get your attention. Their music speaks plainly and compellingly for itself; The Roots Union are such a band.
The Exeter and Brighton based four-piece wield acoustic guitars, dobro slide guitar, harmonica, violin, drums and four–part harmonies. They are Tobias Ben Jacob, Phillip Henry, Hannah Martin and Michael Sykes.
The band have already played shows at venues across the South, on the UK festival circuit and even as far afield as Hamburg.
They have just finished a much anticipated new EP with producer Nick Gordon in Exeterand are gearing up for a very busy year ahead.
All being well, we’ll be welcoming Tobias, Phillip and Hannah to the Phonic FM studio next week for Roots and Shoots between 6 and 8pm on Monday (20 April).
Listen to and read more about them on their myspace page:-
