Phonic FM director Paul Giblin will be putting his best foot forward when he takes park in the Great West Run to raise money for the station.
The Future Sound of Exeter (FSOE) presenter dons his running shoes and hits the pavements most days but his running distance usually falls somewhat short of the 13.1 miles he’ll be running on the day.
Paul takes part in the annual half marathon every year, but this is the first time he has raised money for Phonic FM.
Paul said: “Last year I raised money for the Exeter Drug Project, to help some of the victims of too many flashing lights at FSOE gigs, but this year I thought I’d do it for Phonic FM.
“I’m hoping to add the station logo to my running vest in time for the big day."
The Great West Run is on Sunday 3rd May. The 3,000 runners will be setting off from Exeter Arena at 9.30am. They will be passing the cheering crowds as they do two laps of the city centre then finish with a punishing lap of the arena track.
Paul has left sponsorship forms in the Phonic FM studio, at the box office at Exeter Phoenix and you can email him to pledge a donation on paul.giblin@devon.gov.uk. All the money raised will go back into Phonic FM. The station is funded entirely by donations so every penny counts.
And don’t forget to come along and cheer him on on the day.
