A great one-off performance |
Through the Wardrobe, Exeter Northcott, Rougemont Gardens
By Josh Adamson
Being a one off show I was more than pleasantly surprised by this production performed on the set of Romeo And Juliet in Rougemont gardens in the centre of Exeter.
Through the wardrobe is a Narnia/Alice in Wonderland style adventure starring a group of young school kids who get lost in a wardrobe and have to find their way back home.
They first meet with the seamstress Daisy Von Trapp, a persuasive lady with bad intentions to trap them and use them to gain the golden thread.
The most wonderful thing about this play was the many and colourful characters the children meet on their journey through the wardrobe – pirates, a French Giant musical pumpkin, spinners, clowns, kings, queens etc.
Brilliantly performed with great songs, often hilarious characters and set in the garden, the play was a delight and it’s a great shame it was a one off, as many young children and young-at-heart adults would very much have enjoyed it.
