Bruce Foxton talks to phonic FM’s Souled out Saturday

Bruce Foxton, one of the original members of iconic English Mod Revival group The Jam, talks to Souled out Saturday’s Doug Manton.

Check out the interview on this week’s Souled out Saturday from 4pm to 6pm on Phonic 106.8fm.

Bruce is still very much involved in continuing to bring the amazing sound of The Jam to adoring fans across the UK, and touring as From The Jam, with the fantastic Russell Hastings and drummer Mark Brzezicki.

Brzezicki is primarily known for his work with Big Country but he is also a former member of the groups The Cult, Ultravox, and Procol Harum.  In 2004, Brzezicki helped found a new band, Casbah Club, with Bruce Foxton and Simon Townshend.

Unlike some groups who almost seem embarrassed by their early hits, From the Jam blast out the finest tracks from the burgeoning The Jam back catalogue, as well as interlacing some new From the Jam songs.

This year marks 30 years since The Jam released their fourth studio album, Setting Sons which gave Mod revival fans the anthemic The Eton Rifles, the band’s first UK top 10 single, and the most enduring Foxton composition Smithers-Jones.

Never has the sound and influence of The Jam been more apparent in chart bands of the moment.  The Enemy, Arctic Monkeys and The Rifles all display the same working class angst in their thumping guitar rock.

From The Jam was eagerly embraced from the start in 2007. Bruce Foxton’s bass guitar was an integral part of The Jam’s sound and success and Russell Hastings on guitar and vocals has stunned audiences nationwide with his own energetic and passionate performance of The Jam’s back catalogue.

For your soundtrack to suburbia, you do not want to miss FROM THE JAM this December, and you definitely don’t want to miss Bruce talking to Souled out Saturday, this week on Phonic fm.
