DJ Eye Tech in the Sunday Times

Phonic FM’s DJ Eye Tech has featured in an article about Locked in Syndrome in the Sunday Times.

The DJ, also know as Bram, who presents a show on Phonic FM with the help of an eye controlled computer, has suffered from the condition since he fractured his skull in a bicycle accident aged 20.

Details of his plight were included in an article about the unusual condition published in the national paper on Sunday (29th November 2009).

Locked in Syndrome means Bram can’t move or speak and is fed through a tube in his stomach. His fully functioning brain is effectively ‘locked in’ his non-functioning body. Despite these overwhelming odds the inspirational disk jockey presents shows for Phonic FM.

He told the Sunday Times, despite communicating through eye movement: “I can think and understand like everybody else.”

On Saturday 5th December from 8pm to 10pm DJ Eye Tech will present the third ‘inspirational’ Eye Life Show. In a groundbreaking move Bram presented the last show from the Phonic FM studio answering emails sent to studio@phonic.fm immediately after the show.

DJ Eye Tech’s voice has been silent for the time he has lived with Locked in Syndrome, now the whole world can hear him via 106.8 Phonic FM!
