Sketches is a suite of new music composed by Phonic FM’s Pete Canter specially for the Vibraphonic Festival.
It is a blend of contemporary jazz, film-score like sound-scapes and downright groove.
The 10-piece October Ensemble is made up of Pete on sax with a jazz rhythm section plus two violins, cello, two flugelhorns and French horn. Also ambient sound recorded and mixed with studio recordings are used as links to make Sketches a continuous piece.
This really is something different! It’s jazz but not as you know it!!
