Phonic FM blues benefit with Paul Lamb and The Kingsnakes, Friday 10th September, Exeter Phoenix, 8.30pm
Phonic FM have put together an amazing line-up for Exeter Sound Alternative’s first-ever live blues night, with all profits to our community radio station.
Headliners Paul Lamb and The Kingsnakes need no introduction to anyone familiar with the genre and provide a great taster for those unfamiliar with the blues:
Slim’s Blues website says: “Hailed by aficionados and music press around the world as Europe’s foremost blues harmonica exponent, Paul Lamb has forged himself a place in the history books as one of the greatest players of our time.
“He has won countless awards, sold record-breaking quantities of albums, and performed the world over with his long-standing musical compatriots, The Kingsnakes.
Recently inducted into the British Blues Awards Hall Of Fame (alongside the likes of Peter Green, John Mayall and Alexis Korner), Paul Lamb still continues to bring his infectious brand of soulful blues to a plethora of fans around the globe… ”
He’ll be supported in the auditorium by our very own ‘slide King’ Julian Piper with his backing band The Juke Jumpers, with The Walkards opening the evening’s action.
Meanwhile, the bar will be humming to even more blues courtesy of Phonic’s Ian Mckenzie and Alan Hooper, with Phonic FM blues deejays on deck-duty too.
Doors open at 8pm until midnight. Tickets cost £10 and be bought by calling 01392 667080, or just turn up on the night.
