Raider on The Rock Show, Friday 16th July at 10pm
Four metalheads from all over Devon and Dorset combine forces to create the awesome power that is Raider.
“On stage, Raider are a definitive force to be reckoned with. Loud, fast and in your face, Raider deliver hard punches and crushing riffs whilst keeping an exceptional stage presence leaving audiences quaking for more. Raider fill the space around them with their personalities and their exceptional ability to write head crashingly good songs!”
Jules Black, Metalmongrel.
“…the overall sound to me is like the bastard child of Ozzy and Pantera circa Mouth For War”
Andy Bradshaw, Former Assistant Editor, Metal Hammer.
“They must be South Devon’s best kept secret -the band is simply amazing! Really tight and heavy, with great melodic songs and eye-catching stage presence.”
Ania Blomberg-Gahan (Herald Express & Metal Hammer Poland).
Raider was formed in May 2006 by Roger B and original singer Adi Capell. As with most bands in their first couple of years, personnel came and went, notably drummer James Phillips, Adi himself and most recently, guitarist Jay Harding. All were missed and all left a big hole. Roger and stalwart bassist Dave Sosnowski stuck together though and, with the help of long-time road manager Andy Rahn, kept the band alive and ready for the two latest additions to the Raider story; drummer ‘Jetset’ John Briginshaw and Anthony ‘Woody’ Wood.
So, Raider 3 was born in April 2009 and is moving in a direction that some would say is overdue, others would say is too much of a departure from the original songs on the 2007 CD ‘Junky to the Pain’ Either way, the Raider feel is still the same, with uncompromising songs and full-on energy and aggression live.
A big addition to the Raider history is, for the first time, having professional management in the shape of RockSlide Productions, an exclusive new company that invests in British rock / metal bands and helps to propel them to the next tier of the music industry to the point where they can’t help any more.
