The Orb, Exeter Lemon Grove, Friday 19 March
An ultra-rare live appearance sees The Orb play Exeter’s Lemon Grove.
Witness a very special event as the psychedelic band, who usually only play live at special venues such as Battersea Power Station and big international festivals, entertain crowds in Exeter – bringing them to Exeter is a real coup.
Dr Alex Patterson and Prof Thomas Fehlmann will play classic tracks from their back catalogue along with material from their acclaimed new album, Baghdad Batteries (named after a 2,000 year old battery which was recently discovered in Iraq – it runs on lemon juice and was used in sliver-plating).
Live, The Orb have often been compared to Pink Floyd in terms of visual impact, with a range of exotic imagery specially designed to accompany their complex use of samples, electronica and beats.
Sunfish will provide live support with DJ Ambiessence on the mix.
