WestEnders Comedy Show Series 2

The WestEnders Comedy Show once again presents a satirical look at teenage life in Devon. A fast paced mixture of sketches and character comedy, written and performed by the young people. Each of the 6 weekly episodes will be broadcast on Exeter’s community radio station, Phonic FM on Friday’s at 5.40pm starting on April 2nd.

Series 2 returns with old favourites like Turnip FM and lots of new sketches including Posh Gangsters.
Pupils from the Westend Unit, Tiverton High School have been making the Radio Comedy Series with Wolf and Water Arts Company in partnership with the Ivy Project.
The students at the Westend Unit have been working with Wolf and Water and they have created all the content for the show, edited the audio, created sound effects, made videos and animations for viral marketing and done all their own publicity and marketing.
“Much of the comedy comes out of what happens at the unit. Students are responsible for the whole process and develop into roles as they discover their own strengths and interests. The 16 young people involved have done everything from planning and promotion, script writing and sound editing to publicity and marketing. The response to the original first series has been incredible. It is available on the internet and iTunes and has been downloaded over 10,000 times. This keeps WestEnders among the most popular of podcasts, even 12 months on, and we have received emails requesting more. For the teenagers, writing and producing a second WestEnders has been a rewarding and confidence boosting experience.”

The first episode of the WestEnders Comedy Show Series 2 will be broadcast on Phonic Fm 106.8 in the Exeter area and online at www.phonic.fm on Good Friday 2nd April at 5.40pm and will also be available for download from the iTunes Music Store.
