Local percussionist and Royal College of Music scholar Edward Scull joins the Exeter Chamber Choir under Andrew Daldorph for a benefit concert at St Peter’s Church, Shaldon next Friday, 15 April.

Shaldon-based young percussionist Edward Scull is currently a student at The Royal College of Music, London where he has made outstanding progress. He will be performing in aid of the Helen Foundation.

He recently won the prestigious RCM Concerto Competition which resulted in being invited to be the solo performer at the 26 January RCM recital to be broadcast later by BBC 3 as part of a Holst season.

Among the percussion instruments, Ed’s favourite is the marimba and he has offered a concert of romantic music for the fifth anniversary concert on Friday.

Ed will be supported by the prize-winning Exeter Chamber Choir, containing leading Devon-based singers.

In 2009, the Choir won the PRS for Music’s Unforgettable Choir title for its performance of Andrew Dandorph’s modern oratorio Songs of Hope and Creation.

The concert takes place in St Peter’s Church, Shaldon.
