Edinburgh hit arrives in Exeter

The Station: Fourstones, Exeter’s Bike Shed Theatre, Monday 5th to Saturday 10th September 2011

The Station: Fourstones hilariously and poetically tells the story of Al and his unlikely quest to find a tropical rainforest in Northumberland.

Al’s passion and determination may not convince you of this absurd proposition but you will find yourself willing him to succeed.

Al’s life is going nowhere but after learning that his dead neighbour was in fact his grandfather he is sent on an expedition that ultimately only he can believe in.

Drawing rural mythologies, urban folklore and the ever recognisable problem of being the imperfect child of an imperfect family, this vibrant and original coming of age story holds the absurd with the everyday.

With an original script  and a cinematic soundtrack composed by Benji Bower (Kneehigh, Travelling Light) this new piece of physical storytelling has been charming audiences across the country.

The Station: Fourstones was developed with and is supported by Bristol Old Vic, Tobacco Factory Theatre and Theatre Bristol through Prototype: Experiments in Theatre.

The 2011 national tour has taken the show to audiences from Devon to Scotland including the Brighton Fringe and Flourish Festival. It comes direct to The Bike Shed in Exeter after its Edinburgh Fringe run at the acclaimed Zoo Venues where it gained a host of four and five star reviews.
