Cygnet Company is thrilled to welcome Richard Digby Day on his return to the New Theatre.
Carlo Goldoni, Italy’s most famous playwright, is best known for his comic masterpiece, The Servant of Two Masters, which has been most recently adapted as One Man, Two Guvnors for the National Theatre’s hit production starring James Corden. Audiences have admired the plays of Goldoni for their ingenious mix of wit and honesty. His plays offered his contemporaries images of themselves, often dramatizing the lives, values, and conflicts of the emerging middle classes.
As funny today as when it was written Il Campiello is a wonderfully entertaining comedy for Christmas.
