Play exploring gender reassignment

Play exploring gender reassignment

Self-Centered, Exeter Bike Shed, Tuesday 26th to Saturday 30th June, 6pm

There’s something different about Danny. He feels at odds with a world he doesn’t feel a part of. It’s time for a change…

Bare Bones Theatre is a new, exciting and innovative Exeter-based collective, which is inspired by thought-provoking, boundary-pushing theatre.

Bare Bones Theatre brings you Self-Centred, a special play written exclusively for the Exeter Ignite Festival.

Self-Centred follows Danny on his highly emotional and poignant personal journey through the sometimes controversial subject of gender reassignment.

This is a topical and innovative drama that uses monologue interwoven with music to explore powerful and emotive themes. By laying bare the multiple aspects of the self and exploring how we deal with life-changing events, Self-Centred takes you on a journey through the senses using a myriad of voices to portray inner conflict and examine the human condition.

The intimacy of The Bike Shed Theatre lends itself to our up-close and personal style of drama, ensuring the audience will fully experience Danny’s emotional journey at close quarters.
