Gilad Atzmon, Gypsy Hill Hotel, Exeter on January 31st 8.00 pm
Gilad Atzmon will play at the Blue Vanguard Jazz Club at the end of January. The internationally acclaimed sax player will play with local musicians Craig Milverton (piano), Coach York (drums), and Al Swainger(Bass) to play a variety of old and new material.
He is currently touring with his regular band, The Orient House, but will be the guest of the Bluevanguard Jazz on January 31st. He will promote songs from his new album ‘Songs of the Metropolis’ but will play across a range of styles.
There is also the chance to hear the artiste giving a talk entitled ‘The road to bop’ at 6.30 pm. In this he will talk about his career, his philosophy and his politics, all of which inform his music.
This is a great chance to see and hear a musician who has played with a large number of influential musicians and in diverse styles.
