Simple Sounds Kingsbridge festival is on Sunday 26th May

Simple Sounds Kingsbridge is a brand new music festival being held on Sunday, 26th May. Organisers aim to bring some of the best up & coming local and national bands to the town for a day of great musical entertainment.

There will be over 25 acts descending on venues across the town; kicking off at 2pm at The Kings Arms, other venues include Coast Nightclub and the Seven Stars.

Buying one ticket will enable you to watch bands spanning an eclectic range of genres: ska, punk, indie-rock, acoustic and more throughout the day and then into the night. Bands include the festival headliners Yes Sir Boss (who recently released a single with Joss Stone), Great Cynics, The Dead Formats, The Cut Ups, The Amy Wallace Band, as well as popular local bands.

One of the stages is being curated by Aidan Sinclair, who drums in The Computers. He said about the event “I’m really excited that an event like this is coming to Kingsbridge and it will be a great showcase for some of our fantastic local bands”. Aidan, who was raised and schooled in Kingsbridge, will also be playing during the day.

Simple Sounds Kingsbridge is organised by local company, Simple Humans Productions – a new creative events company based in the South Hams. Charlie Ansell, one of the event organisers, who lives and grew up in the area explains “This is an area with a lot of musicians and music fans but not enough events or festivals. We just want to bring some good bands to town and create a day of music that many people can enjoy.”

Tickets cost £10 for the whole day and are now on sale via the Simple Sounds Festivals website or in person at Coast or Kingbridge Tourist Information Centre.
