Dartmoor Arts Summer School  28th  July to 3rd  August 2013

The Dartmoor Arts Project Team have lots of exciting news  about their summer school.

New Evening Events Venue for 2013

This year events will be at The Fingle Bridge Inn just outside the centre of Drewsteignton. It is a  stunning location right next to the river, where students can socialise and meet at the end of each day and the public can join us for our fantastic programme.

Evening programme 28th July – 3rd August
International performance artist Paul Granjon will be presenting some of his home made robotic contraptions with accompanying music,  all delivered with deadpan humour.

Karolina Glusiec, winner of the 2012 Jerwood Drawing prize shares her beautiful animations.

Artist Andrzej Jackowski talks about his recent works and Tim Britton will be presenting a medley of his animations and cartoons as well as some film extracts from Forkbeard shows, old and new and talking about animation and film in the context of live performance.

Music from the ZEN HUSSIES celebrates the end of summer school party.

Events are open to all.

Spatial Structures

design and build

This years project is to design and build a Dartmoor Mini Fun Palace,  a multipurpose demountable pavilion that can be used as a stage, meeting place, ba ror exhibition space.

Animation for artists and storytelling
Two brilliant half-week courses on offer.

Storytelling will run from Monday 29th July to Weds 31st July with a live performance by students on the Wednesday evening.

Animation for Artists will run from Thursday 1st August to Saturday 3rd August with a screening of the animations made on the final evening.

Dynamic duo Stephen Park and Wilf Merttens lead the storytelling and Anna Aroussi & Josh Gaunt lead the crash course in animation techniques, light painting, pixilation and more.

Other great courses this year include Printmaking with Master Printmaker Kip Gresham from the Print Studio Cambridge and

Documentary and film making at Dartmoor Arts Project

Documetary Filmmaking with Hugh and Anson Hartford of Banyak films. Places are limited on the film course so early booking is advised.

Summer School Bursaries
We have a number of bursaries to support young artists, architects and performers which cover up to 50% of the fees.
