“Jay Tamkin is one of the finest blues based musicians performing in the UK today. He has developed a large array of inventive and excellently crafted songs while his live show demonstrates his explosive skills on guitar and keyboards”.
Duncan Beattie-Reviewer for Blues Matters Magazine

Jay Tamkin and band have played extensively throughout Europe and in the States. Their recent support for the Yardbirds in London was highly acclaimed.

The Swamp Gods combine lo-fi loops with snake guitars and New York harmonies. If you drove down a highway from Garbage to the Cramps while making a slight detour to the Yeah yeah yeahs you might be somewhere near their borders, but in their homeland the grooves burn all night.

Alex Kumar is a young guy with a big future. Still only 16, he is an impressive performer with a remarkable finger-picking guitar style. A fine singer too – his well chosen repertoire includes his own unique versions of Dylan and Robert Johnson and his own songs.

Exeter Phoenix Auditorium. Saturday 13 April 2013.
