The Analogue to Digital Music Show, Saturday 18 May, Exeter Phoenix
The Analogue to Digital Music Show organised by Sound Gallery Studios, hits Exeter once again on Saturday 18 May, bringing with it hundreds of visitors and an impressive exhibitor and guest speaker line-up.
A2D is a unique music industry event which showcases a diverse range of products by major music technology brands, not to mention an array of hands-on demos, masterclasses, workshops and music industry seminars delivered by high profile artists and producers across four zones and three floors at Exeter Phoenix in Exeter.
Sound Gallery is proud to announce that soundscape innovator Richard Barbieri (Japan, Porcupine Tree) will be delivering a Vintage Analogue Synth masterclass at the show. Representing the true ‘analogue’ side of A2D, Richard will be demonstrating his three favourite gems from his collection – The Roland System 700 Lab Series semi modular, a Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 polysynth and a Micromoog mono synth.
Musicians Union regional officer Paul Gray will deliver a session on everything you wanted to know about playing live, royalties, copyrights, music publishing, contracts and more. The event also will play host to indie record labels (hungersleep records, Integrity Records, Animal Farm) and educational institutions (Academy of Music and Sound, dBs Music, BIMM).
Other notable demonstrators and speakers include percussionist Hossam Ramzy (Peter Gabriel, Led Zeppelin), Tony Butler (Big Country), certified Ableton trainer Martin Delaney, Reason demonstrator Gary Bromham, drum and bass producer D-Product (Roni Size), Regional MU officer Paul Gray, Martin Walker (Sound On Sound), producer Lee Fletcher (Unsung productions), Tim Bowness (No-Man, Henry Fool), DJ erbNdub, producer Gavin Monahan (Editors, Scott Matthews), drummer extraordinaire Ash Soan (Adele, Squeeze, Robbie Williams), Steve Knightley (Show of Hands) and more!
The event will also include Q & A sessions, seminars, stalls and live demos showcasing all the latest products from Yamaha Music, AVID (ProTools), Ableton (Live 9, PUSH), 2Twenty2 Agency (Bitwig, Teenage Engineering), Sound Technology (Propellerhead/Reason), Time + Space (Rob Papen, iZotope), BakTrak Pedal, Clicksound, Quested Monitoring Systems, Super Audio Mastering, Alphasphere as well as live music, give-ways, studio competitions, the legendary Prize Draw and the aftershow party on the terrace!
