A journey into the twisted mind of a killer

A journey into the twisted mind of a killer

Christie in Love, Substance and Shadow Theatre

By Josh Adamson

Set in the Cellar Bar at the City Gate the venue for this play is intimate and dark, a suitable atmosphere for this dark themed play about notorious English serial killer Reginald Christie.

The play is mostly a police inspector and a constable quizzing Christie about his perversions, seeking the logic for why he murders women, and has his way sexually with their corpses.

The play is intense and quite graphic in its rhetoric, a journey into the twisted mind of Christie.

Christie was brilliantly portrayed in the play by actor Midge Mullin, with great support from Nathan Simpson as the Inspector and Sam Pike as the constable.

The venue’s atmosphere along with the dark rhetoric, creates a dark piece of psychological theatre, great viewing for fans of the horror genre.
