A Little Nonsense is Back

A Little Nonsense is Back

A Little Nonsense, The Bike Shed Theatre, Mon 14th – Wed 16th July, 7pm, £8/£6, 12+

Returning to The Bike Shed Theatre after featuring earlier this year is A Little Nonsense, an original black comedy that explores the dark side of the otherwise humorous life of a clown.
If you didn’t get to see it when it was shown in January, despair not as the critical-acclaimed comedy is back on Monday 14th through to Wednesday 16th July.

Bitterly frustrated by a clown’s freedom to play and inability to take life seriously, a man has taken it upon himself to teach this clown a lesson and beat some sense into him.
Through mime, slapstick, poetry and music, A Little Nonsense follows the farcical, haunting and abstract relationship of this unloving and tortured double-act and celebrates the importance of having light and shade within our lives.

A Little Nonsense draws on the melancholy and slapstick of Buster Keaton, the frustrations of language in Samuel Beckett, and the wry wit of Spike Milligan to create a unique and ballsy dark comedy in which the audience is led between moments of hilarity, violence and dark surrealism.

The clownish production, which will head to Edinburgh Festival this summer, has had much praise.

“Genuinely faultless… An outstanding piece of theatre.” – Broadway Baby (rated 4 stars)

“It’s rare to discover a show which succeeds in balancing genuine hilarity and powerful drama, but Juncture Theatre certainly managed it… A real gem of a show.” – Latest 7 (rated 5 stars)
