CAB/Exeter Libraries and Energy Saving Awareness

Big Energy Saving Week

27 – 31 January 2014

Energy Saving Events
The CAB and Devon Library’s Free Friday sessions have teamed up with Exeter’s
St Thomas Library and Exeter Central Library to bring you two energy saving events:
Wednesday 29th Jan – 10am -3pm – St Thomas Library – Cecil Rd/Church Road
Friday 31st Jan- 10am – 3pm – Exeter Central Library – Castle Street

We encourage you to bring your energy bills with you so we can help:
·        Check energy bills.
·        Compare energy prices.
·        Explain where customers can get help with their energy bills.
·        Discuss energy efficiency methods.
·        How to access funded energy saving insulation and equipment.

The Facts
Calls to the Citizens Advice consumer service increased by 44% in the period immediately following supplier price increase announcements this winter.
Up to £20 billion in benefits went unclaimed in the UK in 2011 – that’s enough money to fuel nearly 16 million homes.

The Energy Saving Trust estimates that the average home in the UK wasted £280 last year, simply by not being energy efficient.

Raising Awareness
Look out for the energy awareness raising campaign. We will be using local media to promote and raise awareness of how to save money and energy on your fuel bills. Join in by following our online campaign using the hashtag #Besw14

Remember to bring your bill!
