Phonic FM 106.8fm is a Community Radio Station based in Exeter, Devon, UK, that broadcasts to the Exeter area and streams it's shows online via the Phonic FM website.

The Phonic FM website supports all aspects of the stations output. It has an up to date schedule so you can see when your favourite shows are being broadcast along with presenter and show profiles.

The website also has comprehensive news and features sections letting you know about all the important happenings within Phonic FM.

Who owns and runs Phonic FM?
The Company that owns Phonic FM is called Exeter Community Radio and is a company limited by guarantee no. 5979408. The seven Directors of Exeter Community Radio run Phonic FM.

Over time it is envisaged that Phonic FM will become a mutually owned co-operative. The present company is, in any case, a not for profit organisation.

Where does the funding for Phonic FM come from?
Phonic FM developed from Vibraphonic FM. When Vibraphonic was wound up it transferred its funds to the new company, Exeter Community Radio Ltd. In addition Phonic FM has received funds from Exeter City Council, Devon County Council, The Arts Council and Awards For All. However there is an ongoing need for the station to pursue further funding and grants. This website offers listeners to donate through pay pal.

Can anybody get involved with Phonic FM?
Phonic FM relies on volunteers. Anybody who wants to can get involved and there are plenty opportunities either on or off air. If you are interested in presenting or other aspects of the broadcast output of Phonic FM contact djpeachy@ymail.com If you would like to become involved with the website email jenna@phonic.fm, if you are interested in another aspect of Phonic FM email info@phonic.fm. Phonic FM also offers opportunities for skills and work based training (see the Skills pages for more information on this).

There doesn’t seem to be a programme that covers arts issues I’m interested in.
Phonic FM is always looking for people with new arts based interests to become involved in the station. The directors are committed to increasing all sorts of programming areas; especially speech programmes such as drama workshops, visual arts, poetry and interactive programmes.
